The History Of Negroni

This week on #cocktailculture we talk about the #Negroni and it was firstly mixed in #Florence , #Italy , in 1919, at Caffè Casoni, ex Caffe Giacosa, located in via Tornabuoni and now called Caffè #RobertoCavalli. Count Camillo Negroni concocted it by asking the Bartender Fosco Scarselli, to strengthen his favorite the #americanococktail by adding #gin rather than the normal soda water. The bartender also added an orange garnish rather than the typical lemon garnish of the #Americano to signify that it was a different drink.

The recipe in #CocktailCulture for #Negroni celebrating the #NegroniWeek and the #WorldGinDay is:
1oz of #Gin
1oz of #Campari
1oz of #SweetVermouth
Put all the ingredients in your #Mixing Glass, #Stir and strain to a rock glass with a big ice cube. #Garnish with a orange peel.
Have a happy Negroni #Weekend. Cheers!

“The bitters are excellent for your liver, the gin is really good but strong. They balance each other.”
